Brief Bio:
Steve Griffin first starting learning to fly at age 16 and has gone on to earn qualifications in aeroplanes, balloons, ultralights and gliders. He holds instructor and examiner ratings for balloons and is multi-engine aeroplane rated.
In 1994 he became the first person to fly a balloon solo non-stop across Australia on a marathon 56 hour 27 minute flight from Carnarvon WA to Kilcummin QLD. He has held 15 World and 84 Australian aviation records and has been awarded numerous international honours by the Federation Aeronautique International including the Montgolfier Diploma, Henri Mignet Diploma and CIA Gold Badge with 3 Diamonds.
He is an avid underwater and wildlife photographer and has received numerous awards for his imagery.
As an adventure/expedition traveller he has climbed Kilimanjaro, paddled more than 300km of the Zambezi River, trekked in PNG, Thailand and New Zealand
